Can I buy a car in Canada without travelling there?

Yes. Many clients find the vehicle remotely, have its condition checked, then hand the preparation and shipping to us in Montreal. Velox Logistics coordinates the logistics; we are neither a dealership nor a customs broker.

How do I have a car inspected before buying?

Ask the seller for the vehicle history and have an independent mechanical inspection done before any payment. Our guides explain what to ask for and what to check.

How many vehicles fit in a container?

It depends on the container size and the real dimensions of the vehicles. We confirm the loading plan with you before booking, based on exact measurements.

Container shipping from Montreal

Where do your shipments depart from?

All our international shipments leave Montreal. We pick up cargo across Quebec and Ontario, then load at our Saint-Léonard warehouse.

Do you offer RORO shipping?

No. We ship vehicles in containers only, which lets you load personal effects or other cargo in the same shipment.

Which documents are needed for a vehicle?

At minimum: proof of ownership, the purchase invoice, and identification for shipper and consignee. Destination requirements change — confirm them with the destination customs authority or ask us before you buy.

Can I send only a few boxes?

Yes. Consolidation lets you share a container with other shipments going to the same destination instead of booking a full container.

How do I get a rate?

Send us the destination, the type of cargo and the dimensions or number of vehicles. We reply with a written rate: we do not publish fixed prices because they depend on volume, destination and current conditions.

How do I track my shipment?

Once booked, we share your shipment references and stay reachable on WhatsApp for the whole journey.

Which African ports do you ship to from Montreal?

We serve ports including Abidjan, Dakar, Cotonou, Lomé, Douala, Tema, Lagos, Conakry, Banjul, Freetown, Monrovia, Nouakchott, Bissau, Praia, Pointe-Noire, Matadi and Djibouti. Each country page states the arrival port used.

How does shipping work for landlocked countries (Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Ethiopia)?

Cargo first arrives at a neighbouring port — Dakar, Lomé, Cotonou or Djibouti depending on the country — then continues inland. We agree on the handover point with you before booking.

Who handles customs clearance on arrival?

Clearance at destination is handled by the consignee or a local broker. We are not a customs broker; we provide the shipping documents required.

What duties and taxes apply on arrival?

Duties, taxes and vehicle age rules are set by the destination country and change regularly. Confirm them with the destination customs authority before buying: we never publish figures we cannot stand behind.

Buying several vehicles or reselling in Africa

Can several cars ship in the same container?

Yes, when the dimensions allow it. Resellers do this routinely: we confirm the loading plan from real measurements before booking.

Do you work with African dealers?

We work with private buyers and with professionals who import regularly. The logistics are the same: container loading in Montreal, departure to the port you choose.

Is it better to buy in Canada or in the United States?

Both markets have advantages. We load from Montreal; our guides compare the two options from a logistics standpoint, without tax or customs advice.

Parcels, personal effects and used clothing

Can I add personal effects to my vehicle's container?

Often yes in a container. Send us the list and rough volume: we confirm what can be loaded and what the destination country may refuse.

Do you ship used clothing bales?

Yes, wholesale from Montreal, in a full container or through consolidation depending on quantity.

Do you pick up in Quebec and Ontario?

Yes. We collect cargo across Quebec and Ontario, then everything is loaded in Montreal before departure.
