What drives the cost of shipping a vehicle

VELOX Logistics does not publish a fixed price: the cost depends on the vehicle, the container and the destination. These are the elements that move your quote.

Vehicle size

A sedan, an SUV and a pickup take up different space inside the container, which changes how the cost is shared.

Sole use or shared container

A vehicle alone in a container costs more than one sharing a 40ft with other cars or cargo.

Destination port

Each port is served by different services, with handling fees and calls that vary.

Documents and vehicle status

A financed, salvage or auction-bought vehicle requires extra verification before export.

Pickup in Quebec or Ontario

Towing or driving the vehicle to our Montreal warehouse is part of the file. Every departure is from Montreal.

Time of year

Space availability and carrier surcharges change with the season.

How do you ship vehicles?

In containers only, loaded and lashed at our Montreal warehouse. We do not offer RORO service.

How many cars fit in a container?

It depends on the vehicle dimensions and the loading method. Send us the models and we confirm what is workable.

Can personal items travel inside the car?

Some destinations and carriers forbid or strictly limit this. It must be confirmed before loading, never assumed.

Which documents are required?

Usually proof of ownership, identification and Canadian export documents. The exact list depends on the vehicle and the arrival country.

Can I ship from Ontario?

Yes, provided the vehicle can be brought to Montreal: all our international departures leave from Montreal.
