VOLUME BUYERS & EXPORTERS
Used clothing from a single bale to a full container
Goods, loading and ocean booking from Montreal.
A used clothing container combines two operations most buyers normally have to coordinate separately: buying the goods and exporting them by sea. Because VELOX Logistics is both supplier and freight forwarder in Montreal, the order, the stuffing and the booking happen in one chain.
How a container order works
The path is the same for a first container as for a repeat customer:
- Customer request: categories, target volume, destination.
- Selection of what is genuinely available and price confirmation.
- Order preparation at our Montreal warehouse.
- Consolidation and container stuffing where applicable.
- Ocean booking with the appropriate carrier where applicable.
- Export from Montreal with follow-up to the destination port.
Container types used
Used clothing travels in standard dry containers. Depending on the volume and weight of your order we work with 20' Standard, 40' Standard or 40' High Cube. The choice follows the weight-to-volume ratio of the goods: compressed clothing fills a container by volume quickly, and the format you pick directly changes the cost per kilo shipped.
Full container or consolidation?
Not every buyer has full-container volume. Two routes exist: a container dedicated to your order alone, or consolidation, where your goods share a container with other shipments leaving Montreal. Consolidation suits intermediate volumes; a full container becomes more efficient once you fill most of the space.
Export to Africa and the Caribbean
Our sailings serve West and Central Africa as well as the Caribbean. Every country applies its own rules to used clothing imports — documents, inspections, possible restrictions. We validate the destination and feasibility with you before booking and never confirm a port we do not serve.
Every departure is from Montreal
Our loading warehouse and our ocean bookings are in Montreal. If your goods sit elsewhere in Quebec or Ontario, we can pick them up with our fleet and bring them to Montreal for stuffing. There is no international departure from any other city.

FAQ — used clothing containers
How many bales fit in a 40-foot container?
It depends on bale format, compression and the loading plan. A 40-foot container takes far more volume than a 20-foot, but the practical limit is often the permitted weight rather than the space. We work out the loading plan with you from the actual order.
Can I buy the goods and the shipping together?
Yes — that is exactly our model: merchandise, stuffing in Montreal and ocean booking handled by the same team.
What if I don't have full-container volume?
We offer consolidation from Montreal: your goods share a container with other shipments bound for the same region.
What documents are needed to export used clothing?
Documents vary by destination country and shipment type. We tell you which list applies to your file before booking and prepare the transport documentation on our side.
