How Container Shipping Works
With container shipping, the vehicle is loaded into a sealed 20ft or 40ft container at the warehouse or a special facility. Professional loaders use wood chocks and ratchet straps to secure the vehicle. The container is then sealed, transported to the port and loaded onto a containership.
A 20ft container fits one standard sedan or small SUV; a 40ft container fits two vehicles or one vehicle plus accessories and household goods. The container moves through the global container network and is unloaded at destination only.

Security and Damage Risk
Container shipping is significantly more secure. The vehicle is sealed inside a steel box, not handled until destination, and theft of personal items from the vehicle is essentially impossible.
